Abstract

The comments by Yin et al.1 on our research are well taken. The idea of combining hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) with endovascular treatment (EVT) is interesting. Previous studies suggest that HBOT is more effective than normobaric hyperoxia (NBO) in treating transient ischemia in animal models, and the combination of early NBO and delayed HBO was more effective than prolonged NBO alone. By contrast, repeated HBOT on subsequent days had no additional effect.1-4
