Abstract

I agree with Dr. Sethi that EEG pattern is dynamic and may change in the first few days after cardiac arrest in a substantial proportion of patients. In our study,1 treatment was based on continuous EEG (cEEG) applied on day 1 (as in figure 1), but prognostication was based on the first 5 days of cEEG monitoring. As stated in the Methods section,1 patients were assigned to 1 of the 4 mutually exclusive EEG prognostic patterns according to the first 5 days of cEEG recording.
