Urology. 2015; (in press) Google Scholar We agree that most communities in the United States are indeed underserved by “Urotraumatologists,” and it is imperative that graduating urology residents matriculate into clinical practice with all the necessary skills to correctly diagnose and manage traumatic insults to the genitourinary (GU) tract. To this end, a comprehensive education in urotrauma is composed of operative and nonoperative management strategies to treat a variety of injuries from differing mechanisms and clinical scenarios.
