Abstract
It is shown, that the symmetry of frequency-angular diagram of scattered or generated surface waves by the two-dimensional periodic structure (its reflect-symmetry) depends not only on the symmetry of the lattice, but also on the symmetrical properties and orientation of each structure element. It is possible to obtain unidirectional reflection by the choice of the element form, whereas Bragg condition gives two or even more separate directions of scattering.
