Abstract
SummaryForty-four cases of intestinal amebiasis treated with aureomycin are reported. Nineteen of them had asymptomatic amebic colitis, while twenty-five presented typical symptoms of amebic colitis, of which seven cases had secondary hepatic congestion and one, amebic abscess of the liver.The dosage per day per kilogram of bodyweight was about 30 mg. The total amount administered was 15 grams in one case; 12 grams in 5 cases; 8 grams in 36 cases. In 2 children, the total was 3 grams.The percentage of cures was 86.
