Abstract

This paper explores the possibility of using velocity or Doppler measurement provided by radar seeker clutter tracking loop for an aided Inertial Navigation System (INS) in the missile midcourse guidance application. A loosely coupled system approach is implemented, wherein the INS navigation error is estimated by using a least square estimator (LSE) and the direct feedback architecture is used. A hardware-in-the-loop testbed is built for assessments and good augmentation performance is reported in the field test.
