Abstract
Augmented reality (AR) has been applied in many situation as the development of visualization and communication technologies. In coal mine industry, it is essential to improve the decision making process in the underground front line with the assistance of AR. In this paper, we propose a framework to implement an AR based decision support system, which includes knowledge support, real time expert connection and AR communication platform. The proposed framework has been applied in a coal mine in China and the user feedback indicate that the proposed framework can improve the communication and knowledge access efficiency in the coal mine industry.
