Abstract

The effect of magnetic field on the increase in the number of erythrocytes and hemoglobin of blood and the concentration of potassium ion in the plasma is reported in the literature 1,2; and has been observed in experimental investigations. The transfer of oxygen to blood is very important in blood oxygenators. Several methods of augmenting the 3 rates of oxygen transfer to blood and associated theories are available. Since the experiments have shown the significant effect of magnetic field on the constituents of blood, it is very important to understand the effect on oxygen transfer to blood. The transfer of oxygen to blood involves diffusion and chemical reaction between oxygen and hemoglobin under the influence of magnetic field.
