Abstract

Passive methods to improve the heat transfer characteristics of two-phase refrigerant flows by altering the tube-side geometry are reviewed and categorized for use in performing system studies and defining future research efforts. The information presented includes available correlations and data for the prediction of the two-phase, heat transfer coefficient and the pressure drop in six different geometries under various combinations of operating conditions and refrigerant selection.
