Abstract
In the present study, the effects of cytochalasin B on the proliferation of normal and malignant human B lymphocytes activated by monoclonal antibodies (MoAb) reactive with IgM heavy chain determinants were evaluated. The following data indicate that heterogeneous populations of normal peripheral blood and tonsillar B cells and certain monoclonal populations of leukaemic B cells proliferate after exposure to monoclonal anti-IgM antibodies. The relationship of these findings to B-cell activation caused by surface Ig cross-linking is discussed
