Abstract

Epitaxial layers of Fe–O with thickness less than 1 µm have been obtained by the method of chemical transport reactions on a MgO substrate. The low energy region of the Auger spectra layers have been investigated. By comparing the Auger spectra with reference iron oxides spectra the layers were assigned to γ- Fe 2 O 3. The quantitative interpretations of experimental temperature dependences of magnetic moment layers in the framework of Neel's model for collinear ferrimagnetism have been obtained.
