Abstract

ametric group comparisons including the three epileptic groups revealed a significant effect for fight hemisphere scores (p < 0.05). In follow-up analyses, ESZ was more SZ-like than LTLE (left, p < 0.06; fight, p < 0.05) for both hemispheres, but ESZ and RTLE did not differ. A second analysis examining GM volumes across the six ROIs showed smaller GM volumes (p < 0.05) in ESZ compared with LTLE for left and right frontaltemporal, right prefrontal, and left parietal regions. These data suggest that GM deficits of ESZ resemble SZ and may exceed deficits in epilepsy without SZ symptoms. (Supported by MH 30854, Department of Veterans Affairs.)
