Abstract

Dobie’s comments [J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 71, 1031–1033 (1982)] on our recent article on human binaural interaction in the ABR [Decker and Howe, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 69, 1084–1090 (1981)] are focused principally on two issues: (1) the use of SL rather than constant peSPL for stimulus presentation, and (2) the presence of asymmetry in the right and left ear contributions to the binaural ABR. The intent of this letter is to clarify our position as it pertains to Dobie’s concerns about these methodological and theoretical issues.
