Abstract

Background: Obstructed hemivagina and ipsilateral renal agenesis (OHVIRA) is a rare congenital syndrome that is difficult to diagnosis. Women typically present after menarche with dysmenorrhea and pelvic pain, and eventually have diagnostic imaging. Patients with unrecognized OHVIRA syndrome can develop infection, endometriosis, infertility, and pregnancy complications. In the following cases, chronic vaginal discharge was a key symptom for further work up and diagnosis.
