Abstract

Three‐dimensional seismic is playing an increasingly important role in appraisal and development planning. Whereas, at first, 3 D data sets were aimed at analyzing the structural style and the mapping of complex fields, more recently, 3-D seismic has proved its value in defining details at reservoir level. Pore content, reservoir facies and very small faults which may impede fluid movement can often be mapped confidently with 3-D seismic.
