Abstract

Pheromone traps baited with natural male lure were compared with McPhail traps and yellow color traps for Dacus oleae (Gmelin). Combinations of pheromone with either yellow or McPhail traps also were tested. Pheromone traps were as effective in trapping males as McPhail traps and much more effective than yellow traps. Combinations of pheromone and yellow or McPhail traps have additive effects on male captures. Presence of pheromones does not affect female captures of yellow or McPhail traps.
