Abstract
Phenethyl butyrate + eugenol (4-allyl-2-methoxyphcnol), 9:1 by volume, was the most attractive lure for Popillia japonica Newman in field tests made between 1965 and 1967 except for Palmarosa geraniol (trans-3,7-dimethyl-2,6-octadien-]-ol) + eugenol, which was 1.4 times as attractive in one test. One part eugenol to 9 parts of most chemicals increased the attractiveness of the chemicals compared with that of the chemical alone. Also, the addition of 75% Deobase® increased the efficiency of phenethyl butyrate + cugenol; Sovasol,® gave less consistent results.
