Abstract

The Child Development Associate program was investigated for changes In the participants' attitudes as determined by their pre‐ and post‐responses to the Minnesota Teacher Attitudes Inventory. Subjects were selected based on a specified criteria and were trained as part of the Child Development Associate program, a competency‐based‐teacher education program. The data were analyzed by using a t‐est and correlation coefficient A significant difference was found to exist between the two means at the .05 level of significance. By these results It was determined that on 46 degrees of freedom, the Mest was significant beyond the .05 level and the correlation coefficient was significant at the .001 level. The findings suggested that the positive attitude changes resulted from the training In the Child Development Associate program.
