Abstract
Abstract A questionnaire assessing atttiudes to clinical theory and practice was administered to a sample of Australian clinical psychologists. Analysis of responses revealed three dimensions of attitudes which were respectively identified as Scientist-Practitioner, Behavioural and Humanistic. These attitudes varied systematically with mesures of theoretical orientation in such a way as to give confidence that they represented valid characteristics of some Australian clinical psychologists. The degree of overlap between these, and dimensions of attitudes derived from a North American study, indicated a consistency between Australian clinicians and their American colleagues.
