Abstract

In this paper, an attitude tracking controller and a control strategy of using cable actuators are presented to stabilize the attitude of membrane antenna satellite system. First, the governing equation of the satellite system is given by the Lagrange method, which possesses nonlinear dynamics and time-dependent characteristics. Then attitude tracking controller via quaternion feedback is designed for the satellite system and the tension cables of the membrane antenna are employed for suppressing elastic vibration of flexible membrane antenna. Following that, the stability of the controllers is proved based on the Lyapunov theory. Finally, the validity of proposed controllers is verified by numerical simulations. Simulation results indicate that the control algorithm can accurately achieve the attitude tracking of the membrane antenna satellite and vibration of the membrane antenna can be suppressed effectively.
