Abstract

دراسة وصفية أجريت في مدينة حائل (شمال غرب المملكة العربية السعودية ، يبلغ عدد سكانها 412.758 نسمة حسب منطقة حائل عام 2010). تهدف الدراسة إلى تقييم معرفة الأم حول الإسهال الحاد لدى الأطفال دون سن الخامسة في مدينة حائل (شمال غرب المملكة العربية السعودية) ، وتقييم موقف الأمهات من التدبير المنزلي للإسهال الحاد. تم استخدام استبيان لجمع البيانات من 522 أم لأطفال دون سن الخامسة ممن عانوا من الإسهال خلال العام الماضي تم تضمينهم في الدراسة. تم استبعاد الأمهات اللاتي لم يصاب أطفالهن بالإسهال خلال العام الماضي. تم توزيع الاستبيانات مباشرة على الأمهات ومن خلال وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي. تم تحليل البيانات إحصائياً باستخدام برنامج SPSS 19 لنظام التشغيل Windows. بدأت الدراسة من أكتوبر 2015 إلى فبراير 2016 ، وشملت 522 أمًا ، معظم الأمهات متعلمات ، ونصفهن تتراوح أعمارهن بين 21 و 30 عامًا. 37.4٪ من الأمهات يزيدن السوائل أثناء الإسهال ، ومعظمهن يعطون تغذية صناعية فقط. كما أظهر نصف الأطفال علامات الجفاف. وخلصت إلى أن عددا كبيرا من الأمهات لديهن مواقف غير مواتية تجاه إدارة الإسهال الحاد في المنزل. لذا فهم بحاجة إلى التثقيف الصحي.

Introduction

Diarrhea is one of the most common diseases in the world. Diarrhea is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as three or more watery or loose bowel movements in a 24 hour [2]. Acute diarrhea is defined clinically as any sudden and significant increase in the frequency or decrease in the consistency of the stool lasting less than two weeks. 2. Chronic diarrhea lasting longer than two weeks, if resolved within a month ,it is known as persistent diarrhea. 3. Secretory diarrhea occurs when there is an increase in the amount of fluid being drawn into the lumen of the bowel such that the ability of the intestine to absorb is overwhelmed. 4. Osmotic diarrhea occurs when there is a dysfunction in the ability of the intestine to reabsorb fluid as it flows through the lumen
