Abstract
The effects of an admittance sheet upon the propagation of surface acoustic waves on a piezoelectric substrate are investigated. The quasistatic approximation and a very simple approximate formula are shown theoretically, and these are compared numerically with each other. It is found that the simple formula is in good agreement with the quasistatic approximation and with measured values. It is also shown that the attenuation constants become smaller when the capacitive susceptance of the sheet increases.
