Abstract

Anti-tumor immunotherapy, that inhibits the proliferation and invasiveness of tumor cells by enhancing the immunogenicity of tumor antigens and susceptibility of tumor cells to killer cells, subsequently activating the immune system of the host, is a hopeful way in tumor therapeutics. However, the effect of the vaccination is still not ideal.Recent research advances suggest that a proper vector may significantly enhance the efficiency of tumor vaccines. As a live vector, the attenuated Salmonella, due to multiple advantages, is anticipated to greatly increase the effects of anti-tumor immunotherapy. Here we review the current developments of attenuated Salmonella as a live bacterial vector for the construction of novel multivalent tumor vaccines. Key words: Tumor; Immunotherapy; Tumor vaccine; Attenuated live salmonella vector
