Abstract

SUMMARY An indirect immunofluorescence antibody technique was used to test 914 egg yolk extracts from 92 chicken flocks in 12 states against 11 microbial antigens. The almost universal reactivity of the egg yolk extracts with the more complex microbial antigens seems to preclude a practical application of this reaction for the detection of other than viral antibody in avian flocks.
