Abstract

The paper deals with the study of the development of the reaction of antibody formation. It was demonstrated that the tissue fluids of chick embryos and of the marine bristle wormNereis virens contain substances capable of reacting like antibodies with the tissue antigens of organisms at a lower stage of ontogenesis. The tissue fluids of a number of invertebrates Tunicata, Echinodermata, Lamellibranchia, Polychaeta) contain substances capable of reacting with the tissue antigens of animals at a relatively lower level of organization.
