Abstract

Assessing the outcomes of university research agenda are done periodically to determine its attainability and capability to be addressed through actual research engagement of university faculties. In this regard, the paper seeks to evaluate the attainability of research agenda of the University of Mindanao (UM’s Sustainable Development Research Framework) and compare it with the actual research engagements through institutional researches produced in six school years since the implementation of the research agenda. Findings reveal very low engagement or subscription rate to three research areas: sustainable economy, sustainable industries and technology, and sustainable environment. There was an oversubscription on the fifth research area (sustainable gains of the University), which was attributed either because of being institutionally-required in compliance to several quality assurance processes or less-stringent approval in such research types. In addition, lessening engagement was noted through time.
