Abstract

Experiments were carried out with a Bradbury electron filter apparatus to determine electron attachment coefficients in carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, air and helium-oxygen mixtures. The data obtained, where comparable, are in reasonable agreement with earlier work. Certain features of the electron filter method are described and discussed, for example the various effects of particle collection at the grids, and electron detachment.
