Abstract

The article discusses the attachment bonds or emotional connections between a person and another one alive or deceased. Topics covered include their roles in grief resolution to make bereavement bearable, the uncertain measurement of a healthy adjustment due to varying circumstance of death and attachment bonds, and the latter's cultural and religious links that can change over time. Also noted are nurses' need to accept the uniqueness of bereaved persons and tailor their support accordingly.
