Abstract

Named Data Networking (NDN) is a novel network architecture which advocates data-centric paradigm for content distribution. Request aggregation is one of the key designs in NDN which can reduce overall traffic and speed up data delivery. However, request aggregation brings challenges for transport protocol design which affects the quality of experience (QoE) of users, as one request message11Interest. There are two format packets in NDN, Interest and Data. may correspond to multiple consumers'22Consumers are equivalent to users, receivers, or requestors. requests. We propose an accelerated transmission strategy called ATSRA, which exploits the collaboration of the consumer and the access router33The access router is the first hop router, which is closet to users. to adjust the request sending rate, to accelerate the content retrieval. ATSRA is a lightweight and flexible design. Simulation results show that ATSRA can achieve more efficient content retrieval and good users' QoE.
