Abstract

A case of presumed mumps myocarditis characterized by Adams-Stokes attacks in a9-year-old Negro girl is presented. Response to drug therapy was inadequate, and an external pacemaker was not tolerated. Intracardiac stimulation, with an electrode catheter, was satisfactory. Following reversion to a sinus rhythm her course was uneventful, and she was without sequelae 4 months after the acute illness.
