Abstract

Six patients with atrial parasystole are described, and all but 1 had heart disease, although clinical data are not available in 1 case. Correlation between the coupling interval, the returning cycle, and the mechanism of this arrhythmia is discussed in detail. Possible aberrant intraatrial conduction has been described. One interpolated atrial parasystolic beat was noted. Hypokalemia was the probable cause of atrial parasystole in one patient.
