Abstract
Radiation-induced grain-boundary migration (RIGM) in an Fe-Cr-Ni alloy under electron irradiation has been investigated using an atomic resolution highvoltage electron microscope. It was observed that the morphology of a grain boundary changed to a facet-like structure from the initial configuration because of the boundary movement during the irradiation, and a remarkable solute redistribution was induced near the migrated boundary interface. The mechanism of RIGM has thereby been substantially clarified.
