Abstract

The experimental results obtained in recent years by LEED, photoemission, d.c. and microwave conductivity, and Hall effect measurements for Ge(111) clean surfaces prepared by crystal cleavage at low temperatures in ultra high vacuum (uhv) and liquid He are discussed. Some possible models for Ge(111)-2x1 and Ge(111)-1xl structures are also briefly considered.
