Abstract
Short-range order of amorphous Cu x Zr 1− x ( x = 30, 50, 67 at%) and Ni 67Zr 33 are studied. In the case of CuZr alloys we use Cu-EXAFS, Zr-EXAFS and X-ray scattering data. For NiZr alloy Ni-edge χ ( k) and DSF are involved to solve the system of Fredholm integral equations by the regularization method. The partial pair correlation functions (PCFs) are determined. The nearest neighbourhood of CuZr alloys may be interpreted within the framework of a hard-spheres model. In contrast, the NiZr PCFs exhibit a trend to strong chemical short-range order.
