Abstract

Abstract The bremsstrahlung photon energy spectra produced at 90° by bombardment of hydrogen, helium, nitrogen and neon with electrons with energy from 5 to 15 keV have been measured. The spectra for neon and nitrogen are in good agreement with the tabulated theoretical atomic-field bremsstrahlung cross sections, and with previous experimental data. The spectra for hydrogen and helium are flatter with respect to radiated photon energy than predicted by theory.
