Abstract

This paper summarizes the anticipated specifications for three space instruments designed for UV spectroscopy - the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph, the Lyman Far UV Spectroscopic Explorer, and the Interstellar Medium Absorption Profile Spectrograph planned as a free flyer during a shuttle mission. The paper then concludes with some general remarks suggesting priorities for the provision of atomic data particularly with regard to energy levels, wavelengths and f-values.
