Abstract

In the mobile communication system, the radio wave propagation model describes the propagation characteristics of radio wave from the transmitter to the receiver. It is closely related to the specific propagation environment and is the first consideration in the field of network planning and network optimization. Although the classical propagation model is universal, the prediction of specific propagation environment is not accurate enough. Therefore, it is necessary to correct the propagation model by combining the geomorphic characteristics of specific areas. First, we simulated Okumura-Hata model, Cost231-Hata model, SUI model and Standard propagation model (SPM) with Atoll. Secondly, the signal field intensity of 2.6GHz band in a certain university was tested. Then, combining Atoll, the average error, standard deviation and root mean square error of the predicted value and measured value of the above four propagation models were calculated, thus verifying the predicted value of Cost231-Hata model was closer to the measured value. Finally, the correction of the Cost231-Hata model is completed by Atoll, and the corrected standard deviation is 5.75dB. The research in this paper is expected to be used in network planning and network optimization and it provides a reference for the 5G network being constructed in this kind of propagation environment.
