Abstract

A method is presented for calculating tilts of the Earth’s surface due to the atmospheric loading effect The loading tilts, taking into account the effect of direct Newtonian attraction, are calculated by the expansion coefficients for the spherical functions of the surface atmospheric pressure fields from the European reanalysis project ERA5, as well as the load Love numbers that we calculated earlier. The obtained time series of tilts (in the north and east directions) are compared with studies by other authors.
