Abstract

Nowadays the study of endophytic fungi has been contributing to obtain secondary and bioactive metabolites of industrial and biotechnological importance. The goal of this work was the evaluation of the antagonistic activity of endophytic fungi isolated from Brazilian Pequi fruit against Candida albicans and Escherichia coli. The experiments was performed using the paired culture technique, where the pathogens and the endophytic isolates were placed to grow in BDA medium at opposite poles of the plate. The tests were performed in triplicate and incubated at 28 ° C. The calculation of the antagonism index (AI) was performed for all endophytes and the analysis of endophytic interactions was based on the Badalyan scale. The endophytes presented an antagonistic index between 26.6% and 82.8% against the pathogen C. albicans and against the E. coli an index between 40.4% and 93.7%
