Abstract
Atherosclerosis of saphenous vein coronary artery bypass grafts is now recognized as a frequent complication (1–7). It is rarely observed during the first postoperative years (1,8,9), but its prevalence increases progressively thereafter. The angiographic diagnosis of these atherosclerotic lesions is based primarily on their late development after the first postoperative year (2,3). The atherosclerotic nature of these lesions has been confirmed on pathology examination by the presence of foam cells and lipid deposits, as well as by classic macroscopic aspects (1,7,10–17).
