Abstract

Background and Aims: Atherogenic indices are used to predict coronary artery disease risk. Angiotensin II (AngII) and angiotensin-(1-7) [Ang-(1-7)] are key renin angiotensin system (RAS) components. Increased AngII to Ang-(1-7) ratios may lead to AngII over-activation and aggravate atherosclerosis progression. The aim of our study was to investigate a possible association between atherogenic indices, AngII and Ang-(1-7) in chronic heart failure (CHF).
