Abstract

A 62-year-old woman presented with a mass over the dorsal aspect of her left index finger distal interphalangeal joint that she reported had been present for at least 6 months. A 62-year-old woman presents with a mass over the dorsal aspect of her left index finger distal interphalangeal joint (DIPJ), which she reports has been present for at least 6 months and is slowly growing in size and causing pain and changes to the nail. On examination, there is a smooth, firm and relatively immobile dome-shaped mass overlying the DIPJ that is mildly tender on palpation (Figure 1).
