Abstract

The flux of ionizing photons, the profiles of Ly α and CIV lines and the soft x-ray emission in radio loud quasars and radio quiet quasars are compared. The similarity of these properties in these quasars suggests that either the opening angle of the obscuring torus in high luminosity AGNs is larger than that in Seyfert galaxies or there is no obscuring torus at high luminosities.
