Abstract
297 For the past several years, I have been immersed in the subject of tribal gaming. I teach Indian Gaming Law at the University of North Dakota School of Law, and the course, combined with my ongoing research, has convinced me that the politics of tribal gaming is at least as important as the law of tribal gaming. In thinking about a special issue on Indian gaming, then, I wanted to include more than recitations of recent legal developments in tribal gaming. I see three key emerging themes that I thought would be of interest to scholars, policymakers, and practitioners:
