Abstract

With the increasing growth of Telepoint coverage within the UK and the development of Common Air Interface (CAI) CT2 equipment, the situation of multiple Telepoints each being required to cover a common area may lead to unacceptable system performance if minimum separations between unsynchronised Telepoint base units are not maintained. Results of computer simulations are presented which show Telepoints with a common coverage area require a minimum separation of about 10 metres, to ensure a satisfactory service is obtainable by all operators.
