Abstract

The question of asymptotic stability in the large (A.S.L.) for point reactors with non-linear feedback is formulated in general terms. The results are applied to the stddy of xenon oscillations in the presence of temperature effects, and conditions for their A.S.L. are obtained. The region of A.S.L. in the plane of equilibrium flux vs. temperature coefficient is determined and compared to the region of linear stability previously obtained. A criterion for boundedness of the xenon oscillations in the absence of temperature effects is also given.
