Abstract

Like radiative corrections to the parton model, instantons provide a violation of the Callan-Gross relation. However, it is shown that the quark-current Compton amplitude in the instanton background does not scale in the limit of large current mass Q but is suppressed as ln Q Q 2 . It is then argued that the same holds true in the hadron-current case.
