Abstract

Case report of a primarily asymptomatic, non-dislocated fracture of the dens axis in a multiply injured child. The occurrence of injury, diagnosis and course are described. With reference to the available literature, the necessity for detailed X-ray examination of the cervical spine in cases of severe head injury is emphasised.
