Abstract

•RYR1 variants can manifest in adult life mainly with asymmetrical core myopathy. •Asymmetrical anterior thigh muscle atrophy and core myopathy are distinctive features in RYR1 pathogenic variants. •Muscle MRI images revealed a marked asymmetrical involvement of the left quadriceps with a disto-proximal gradient.
