Asymmetric synthesis of 1,1′-bis(1-hydroxyalkyl)metallocenes and their derivatization to the novel chiral metallocenes with c 2 symmetry

Abstract

Catalytic enantio- and diastereo-selective addition of dialkylzines to metallocene-1,1′ dicarboxaldehydes was carried out in the presence of chiral 1,2-disubstituted ferrocenyl aminoalcohols to afford 1,1′-bis(1-hydroxyalkyl)metallocenes. which were converted into novel 1,1′-bis(substituted) metallocenes with retention of configuration.
